Help fund composer John Eaton's 80th birthday concert celebration at Symphony Space this fall!
When the New York Composers Circle realized that its beloved honorary member John Eaton, winner of the prestigious MacArthur Award, was celebrating his 80th birthday this season, we set out to help him celebrate by hosting a concert in his honor.
Since that decision, the American Composers Alliance and the Pocket Opera Players have joined forces with us, and the result is the gala concert for which we are planning. It will take place at 8:30 PM on the evening of Friday, October 23, 2015, at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia, Peter Norton Symphony Space, at 95th Street and Broadway in Manhattan.
The concert will feature four works of John's chosen from various periods of his long career, with a conductor and numerous wonderful performers.
John's generosity of spirit toward composers of all generations has been exemplary and he has been humble despite his many accomplishments. He has been an extremely helpful member of the NYCC and other communities for many years and we are very pleased to be participating in this exciting event.
We really need your help and hope you can contribute!
