

Tania León talks about "Stride" and Project 19

New York Composers Circle Honorary Member and Peermusic Classical composer Tania León's "Stride" is the second piece to be premiered as part of Project 19, a New York Philharmonic commissioning initiative to mark the centenary of the 19th amendment, which extended suffrage to American women. León is one of 19 female composers to receive a commission for the project; she discusses the historic inspirations of her piece, her musical influences, and some features of the new work.
