Friday, February 21, 2020 10:55 AM

The New York Composers Circle proudly announces its 14th Annual John Eaton Memorial Competition, in memory of our beloved long-time honorary member John Eaton (1935-2015), for chamber music compositions of up to four performers. The competition is open to composers who live in the New York metropolitan area without age restriction, other than current NYCC members and prior NYCC competition winners. The winning composition will be performed at one of the NYCC's concerts during the 2020-2021 season, and the winner will also receive a year's free membership in the New York Composers Circle.

Please submit no more than one score, together with a recording (if available), of a solo or chamber ensemble work, preferably 5-15 minutes in length, scored for not more than four performers on instruments not including percussion, harp, or exotic instruments. The work should not have been previously performed in the New York City area. Include in your covering letter a brief biography, a program note for your work, and contact information (phone, e-mail, and mailing addresses). If you wish your score to be returned after the winner is announced, please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope. The deadline for receipt is Monday, April 15th, 2020. A list of prior winning composers and their works is available at:
