Gene Marlow's Heritage Ensemble performed an outreach concert at the Filomen M. D’Agostino Greenberg Music School of Lighthouse Guild on December 6, 2014. The concert was received with great enthusiasm. The Lighthouse's Director of Music Administration, Lisa Johnson, wrote an appreciative thank-you note, stating:
"on behalf of all of us... thank you for bringing your outstanding musical group to us . . . for a most exciting and musically gratifying performance by the Heritage Ensemble."
"This performance was the embodiment of music education through music making: experienced artists demonstrating through the living art form of music what “connections” are all about. . . ."
"this was a perfect way to interact with our students, who are each blind or visually impaired . . ."
"Students . . . were welcomed afterwards to see (touch) a few instruments up close, and we are grateful to your musicians for being gracious and accommodating to those requests."
"We hope it will be our good fortune to host a performance in the future here at the Music School. . . . "
