NYCC Gala

Thursday, May 12, 2011 9:28 PM

The New York Composers Circle, in commemoration of its 10th anniversary, will host a gala at 3 PM on Sunday afternoon, March 18th, at 310 West 72nd St., Apt. 16A in New York. The noted pianist Cesar Vuksic will play a recital of piano music, including works by Bela Bartok, Richard Brooks, Claude Debussy, John Eaton, and Astor Piazzolla, among others, and this will be followed by a wine-and-cheese reception. (As critic Harold C. Schonberg wrote, “Vuksic is a sound and sensitive musician with a technique big enough to handle anything that comes his way.”)

The NYCC plans to ask everyone who comes to contribute at least $50, and more if possible, to support its various artistic and educational programs.

Seats are very limited and must be reserved. If you are interested in coming to this unusual event, please write directly to our Founding President, Jacob E. Goodman, at *contact Jacob E. Goodman*, giving your name and the number of seats you would like to reserve.

You may know that among its other activities, the Circle sponsors a community outreach program, in which we send professional performers to such senior centers as the Hebrew Home in Riverdale and the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House at Saint Peter's Church, and to such schools as the Bronx High School of Science and Stuyvesant High School; all costs are borne by the NYCC. If you cannot come to the gala but wish to make a contribution to help support this important program, please click on the green "Donate Now" button below and fill in the amount of your contribution.
