A reminder about the scheduling change regarding our Sunday Salons! Our next meeting will be on a Saturday (not Sunday) and in a new location…Mark your calendars: Saturday, February 27th at 2:30 p.m. (until 5:30 p.m.) at the rehearsal studio of Symphony Space 95th street and Broadway. 

JOHN DE CLEF PIÑEIRO offers the following hints on finding the right room: (1) if the Symphony Space box office is open (and I presume that it would be), you can enter the Symphony Space lobby, and ask the guard there how to get to the rehearsal studio from the lobby, or (2) you can enter the first glass door down from the south west corner of Broadway and 95th street (where Symphony Space is located), which will take you to the steel stairs leading down from the street level to the actual ticket entrance (not the box office) to the Thalia’s hall. On a wall to the left of the entrance, you will see a yellow sign that says STUDIO, and just follow the signs from there.

If you are in Boston this week, take note: On Thursday, February 25, Charles Peltz will lead the New England Conservatory Wind Ensemble in the premiere of BRIAN FENNELLY‘s The Other Side of Time, written for the ensemble last year. The approximately 13-minute single-movement piece is scored for 30 woodwind, brass, and percussion players. The free concert will be at 8 p.m. in Jordan Hall at the New England Conservatory, and will also include music by Christian Wolf, David Noon, and Richard Strauss. RICHARD BROOKS‘s Sonata for Solo Guitar will be premiered March 5 at Adelphi University (8 pm) by William Zito to whom it is dedicated.
