JOHN EATON writes:  “There’s a very interesting concert on March 3rd and 4th at 8PM, produced by the American Modern Ensemble, at the Tenri Cultural Center, 43A West 13th St. (between 5th and 6th Ave.s and easily accessible from the A, C, E, 1, 2, & 3 trains at 14th St.).  It’s called Musical Mavericks and features a whole series of innovators on their instruments: Robert Dick, flute; Stuart Dempster, trombone; Michael Lowenstern, bass clarinet; Sean McClowry, double bass; Robert Paterson, marimba; Todd Reynolds, violin;  William O. Smith, clarinet; and Pamela Z, voice.  I’ve been asked to play my Microtonal Fantasy for two pianos tuned a quarter of a tone apart, which many members of the NYCC heard me perform at my house. Hope you can come to this innovative concert.”

Those of us who visited John last year are not likely to soon forget his performance. If you missed it (or would like to hear again), here’s your chance!
