JENNIFER GRIFFITH writes: On November 30th, the wonderful Tessera Quintet (hear them at http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=97532146) plays my Wind Quintet at 7:30pm with other fine performances of new music at the Graduate Center, Elebash Recital Hall, 365 Fifth Avenue. Also, at the same place next Wednesday (Dec 6th), I will be playing piano with the CUNY Graduate Center Contemporary Music Ensemble, performing my new piece “Tania,” a tribute to composer Tania León–, also at 7:30pm. Guitarist OREN FADER‘s group, Fireworks Ensemble, is performing a premiere with a terrific dance company, Risa Jaroslow & Dancers, with new music by Scott Johnson. November 30-December 3, 2006, 8:30pm at

RICHARD RUSSELL’s Three Elegies for soprano and percussion will be premiered at Mannes College of Music on Wednesday, December 6 at 8pm. Performing will be the duo, Aurora Borealis, comprised of Tiffany DuMouchelle (hot off her recent Alice Tully Hall debut) and NYCC percussionist STEPHEN SOLOOK. Also on the bill: Adam Berkowitz on clarinet (with whom the duo becomes the trio called Tonal Center). Other composers being performed are Keith Fitch, Jorge Sosa, Seth Rozanoff, and Raphael Fusco. Mannes College’s Concert Hall is at 150 West 85th Street on the second floor. This is a free concert!
